When is enough, enough?

Have you ever been through a series of emotional stress? Ever find yourself saying when it rains it pours? What about the constant pressure by the present challenges you face?

Anyway you slice it, stress is no fun and takes all the energy right out of you. What is even worst is when you are working toward you goals, trying to make things better and you start picking up momentum and motivation, and then WHAM!!! Roadblock, distraction, something to discourage you along the way…

Well I have found that this is a part of life that is inevitable BUT what we can control is how we response in the those tough moments. My church and I have been going through the book of Nehemiah, and one thing that I have learned if nothing else is that when faced with opposition or trying circumstances, the last thing one should do is forsake the task at hand.

However lack of commitment toward the goal in which one pursues can be due to several things

1. Is your goal really worth it?
2. Are you willing to do whatever it takes to see you goal come to reality?
3. Is you goal selfishly created or sought after humbly. (most important)

That last one is the most important because most of us chase dreams that have no real value, or benefit and endure hardship throughout their pursuit. In Nehemiah, he found himself trusting in a task that was bigger than Him, bigger than the people he wanted to help, but yet his heart was with Israel. As he trust God, he found himself facing opposition against his cause but Nehemiah remained focused.

I encourage you before you give up, think through some of the questions above (or ones like them). You may find that your stress may not be worth it because what you are seeking after isn’t. You may find that you goal is with it, and no you need to learn how to endure the hardship with a positive attitude.

I urge you to think through and seek one who can give true clarity in all matters, that being God 😉

Hebrews 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”
